The Final Gala of the IX International Film Festival in Olsztyn “Prison Movie” took place on October 2021 at the Feliks Nowowiejski Philharmonic Hall of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn.
The jury of the IX International Film Festival in Olsztyn “Prison Movie” decided to award only one Grand Prix Prize of the Festival without considering the division into professional and amateur categories.
The Good Villain Statuettes was awarded to:
MIKOŁAJ LIZUT Dożywotniacy
The Grand Prix of the Festival went to the film Annuitants, directed by Mikolaj Lizut, who also wrote the script for this production. The film was made for Crime+Investigation Polsat. The Festival jury was moved by the content and message, which stirs emotions and reflection on the nature of man. The picture shows the diversity of the profile of humanity.
It reveals the complexity of human personality. In addition, it leads the plot brisklyand captures attention until the very end. As the producer herself says about this film: “One should strive for the truth, including the truth about man, even if it is the darkest”.
EWA IGIEL Leśna Kolonia
The award in the category – Resocialization Values was received by Capt. Ewa Igiel for the film “Forest Colony”. The director and screenwriter highlighted the importance of the family in the process of rehabilitation. The form and shape, the emotional overtones that the “Forest Colony” program brings to penitentiary work cannot be overestimated, arouses admiration and respect, admiration for the effort that was put into the implementation of this program. In turn, the statements of the heroines of the film are extremely moving.
Alytaus pataisos namams 60. ATSAKOMYBE - POKYTIS - ŻMOGUS
The Special Award went to a film subtitled Responsibility – Change – Human, which was the best justification for the award for this production. The picture shows what path the Alytus Penitentiary in Lithuania has gone through and what milestones it has reached in the troubled history of its country. The Good Villain was received on behalf of the filmmakers by Sonata Buzaitiene advisor in the organization department of Alytus Prison.
RAFAŁ NOWAK Proskenion 2021
The script highlights the importance of art therapy in re-socialization, the use of various forms of art in the process of changing attitudes. Art. enables the characters in the film to interpret themselves artistically. The film particularly caught the attention of Ms. Irena Telesz – Burczyk.
NORBERT KOBRYŃCZUK, PAWEŁ ROZPŁOCHOWSKI, BARTŁOMIEJ ZARUDZKI, KRZYSZTOF ŻYBURA Reżyserowie Życia
The film is a documentary showing the work of the Radio-Television team from the Volow Penitentiary under the direction of Lt. Sylwia Nosal – Szmorąg. The multiplicity of initiatives shows the process of internal change of characters, insight into themselves.
The winners of the IX International Film Festival in Olsztyn “Prison Movie”, the Regional Director of the Prison Service in Olsztyn Lt. Col. Jaroslaw Stawski, the Director of the Detention Center in Olsztyn and Major Magdalena Socha, who conducted the Final Gala.
