Film and theater actress. From 1969 she worked at the Pomeranian Land Theater in Grudziądz, and since 1975 she has been an actress at the Stefan Jaracz Theater in Olsztyn. She played numerous roles in adaptations of William Sheakspeare’s dramas, including Lady Macbeth and Hekate in Macbeth, the Duchess of York in Richard III and Queen Gertrude in Hamlet. She appeared as Olga in The Three Sisters according to Anton Chekhov.
In 1981, at the Torun Festival, she was honored with the award for best female role. Three times she received the audience award in press polls. In 2003 and 2010 she was awarded the Prize of the Marshal of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship.
In 2016, she received the badge ofhonor Merit for Polish Culture. She was awarded the Golden Cross of Merit. Irena Telesz-Burczyk is a lecturer of classical verse at the acting college at the Stefan Jaracz Theater in Olsztyn.
In 2020 she received the title of Honorary Citizen of Olsztyn.
